January 4, 1909 - Civic League was chartered.
1914 - First nurse, Florence DeHaven hired
1917 - 217 Broadway is purchased, Nurse Estella Jacoby hired
January 1919 - VNA Spring Grove established as a branch of York VNA
1921 - Contracted with Met Life to serve policy holders
January 5, 1931 - Civic League becomes VNA of Hanover; H.D. Sheppard offers use of Frederick Street property for five years.
1932 - Started clothing and feeding hungry children. Began maternity services and well baby clinics
1946 - Administered diphtheria vaccine in schools
1953 - Joined United Welfare Fund (precursor of United Way), provided space for various social service agencies.
1958 - VNA endowment fund started with $24.89.
1960 - Clinics offered for diabetes, glaucoma, smoking cessation. Expectant parent classes began
1965 - Medicare created
1970’s - Lending medical equipment began, respiratory home care program began, addition to building, cancer program started, ostomy program started.
1980 - VNA Hospice Program established.
1985 - Community Health Services (CHS) created; VNA of Spring Grove merges with Hanover. VNA/CHS Endowment Corporation was created.
1986 - First annual VNA Hospice/Dominos’ Pizza Sunday Fundraiser held.
September 1993 - Relocated to 440 North Madison Street
1997 - Affiliation with Hanover Health Corporation
2008 - Merged Community Health Services with VNA to form VNA Home Care Plus
2009 - Centennial Year - Celebrating 100 Years of Caring
