Hospice Volunteers are required to attend 7 hours of extensive training. Subjects covered include Listening and Communication, Bereavement, Family Dynamics, Spirituality, Patient Care, etc. An application and position description must be completed prior to the start of training. The VNA Hospice Program runs training annually in the fall.
Administrative Volunteers go through a brief orientation after completing an application and position description. They then receive hands on training for each task they are asked to perform. Administrative Volunteer Orientations can take place anytime throughout the year.
