Jim Helt – Chair
Lives in Penn Township with his wife Lisa and their two daughters. Jim is the President for ACNB, where he has worked since 2008.
Emily Berwager – Vice Chair
Lives in Hanover with her husband Andrew and their two daughters. She is VP of Human Resources at Snyder’s-Lance, where she has worked since 2008. Previously, she was employed by Erickson Retirement Communities in various HR and Talent Development leadership roles.
Lauren “Pete” Schott – Treasurer
Pete is a native Hanoverian. He is the retired President and owner of Schott Furniture. He is a long-time former Hanover Public Library Board member. He has two grown children and is a grandfather. Pete is currently a PAL (Patient Advocate) volunteer at Hanover Hospital.
Jennifer A. Leib – Asst. Treasurer
Jennifer is the VP and Senior Private Client Fiduciary Advisor for Wilmington Trust. She is the Secretary of the VNA Endowment Board. She is a member of the Friends of the Library, Hanover and the York County Estate Planning Council. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management from Penn State University.
Karen Mackley – Secretary
Resides in Mechanicsburg with her husband Robert, their two dogs and cat. They have two grown children and one grandson. She is the Managing Director at Columbia Cottage Assisted Living and is a member of the Hanover Rotary.
Alan lives in Hanover with his wife. He has two grown children (both graduated from Hanover schools). Alan is a retired attorney and practiced law in Hanover from 1972 to 2013. He graduated from Dickinson School of Law in 1972. Alan is a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
Lives in Gettysburg with her husband, Dr. Paul Dende, Medical Director for Hospitalist Program at Gettysburg Hospital. Shelley is a Referral Agent with ERA Preferred Properties Referral Program.
Ashley M. Elder
Ashley joined RLH CPA’s & Business Advisors in 2012 as a Senior Accountant. She has Public Accounting experience in audits, reviews, and compilations of various commercial, not-for-profit, and governmental entities. She holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration and an M.B.A. from Shippensburg University.
A native of France, Oliver lives in Carlisle with his family. He joined Cross-Keys Village-The Brethren Home Community in 2013 as Vice President of Sales and Marketing
J. Steven Harner
Lives in Hanover with his wife, Diana. He has two grown children and five (soon to be six) grand-children. Steve retired from M & T Bank in 2012 as the VP in Professional and Business Bank. He served 40 years in the Hanover and south central PA communities in banking.
Lives in New Oxford with her husband Gene. She has two children, three stepchildren and eight grandchildren. Kay retired from Cross Keys Village-The Brethren Home Community after 27 years of service and the Conewago Valley School District with nine years in Community Relations. Her hobbies include photography, gardening and following New Oxford High School Colonial girls and Shippensburg University Lady Raiders Basketball teams
Lives in Penn Township with her husband Perry. They have two grown daughters and four grandchildren. She retired after 33 years from Homewood at Plum Creek.
Pat is the Vice President of Nursing at Hanover Hospital, where she has worked since 2006. She is the proud mother of five children and grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Pat is a Board member of the American Heart Association and TrueNorth Wellness Services.
Tom is the Director of Management Development/Training at Utz Quality Foods. He is responsible for the design and development of education and training programs for corporate training. Tom received a certification from Villanova University in H.R. Management and also received professional accreditation in the human resources field by achieving the SPHR designation
Lives in Hanover with his wife Susan. He is the owner of Smith & Co. CPAs. He is a member of the Hanover Lions Club and serves on the Finance Committee of Delone Catholic High School.
Rev. Steven Thomas
Pastor Steve was born and raised in Houston, TX. He is married to Rev. LaDonna Thomas. His daughter Rebekah is a sophomore at St. Olaf College in Minnesota. He is the Pastor at Bartholomew’s Union Church (ELCA), Hanover. Pastor Steve received a B.S. degree in Chemistry from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from The Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg
