Over the last 100 years, the VNA has touched the lives of thousands of patients and their families. What began as an organization with the purpose of civic betterment has grown into a service that meets the health and social needs at a time when it is needed the most. When I receive a thank you stating, “We couldn’t have done it without you,” and talk to people throughout the community who express their deepest gratitude for our services, I realize the impact that the staff and volunteers make on the lives of the patients and families that we serve.
We recently received a note from the daughter of a former patient. She wrote, “I can’t even begin to tell you how much the loving care for my mother meant to not only her, but to the rest of the family. Please pass along my thanks, with the thanks of the entire family, to these fine women.”
I know that the founders of the Civic League would be proud of the VNA today. Times have changed and faces have changed, but the commitment of the VNA to our community and the people we serve has not changed.
I want to thank the community for the support that it has given the VNA these past 100 years. Looking into the future, I am confident that support will continue. I also want to thank the past and current staff, volunteers and Board members for the hard work and dedication they gave and continue to give. If not for all of you, the VNA would not be what it is today.
We aren’t the best because we’ve been around the longest; we’ve been around the longest because we’re the best!
Wishing you a happy and healthy New Year!
Sincerely,
Linda M. Baile, President & CEO
