Jennifer Shimkonis
Jennifer joined the VNA in May 2022. Growing up in the Southern Tier of New York state, Jennifer completed her BSN at the State University College at Brockport and later a Master's Degree in Nursing Administration at St. Johns College in Rochester, NY.
Jennifer and her family relocated to Hanover, Pa in 1994, and began employment with Hanover Hospital as a nurse manager. Throughout her 24-year career at Hanover Hospital, Jennifer worked primarily in leadership roles apart from one year as the RN Recruiter. Prior to leaving UPMC Hanover in 2018, Jennifer was the Director of Medical-Surgical Nursing for ten years where she contributed to and led multiple successful projects and programs for her units, the nursing department, and the organization. Most recently, Jennifer completed a year with Wellspan Health working in the RN Clinical Vaccinator role providing COVID vaccinations and testing across Adams and York counties.
Jennifer and her husband, Steve, live in Hanover and have two adult sons, Scott and Seth. Jennifer enjoys gardening and staying active by walking, hiking, and participating in YMCA programs.
